Making Westwood a More Colorful Place

The City of Westwood has joined other communities across Kansas in the "Our Community, a More Colorful Place" campaign. The joint program with Kansas State University Research and Extension and the Kansas Pride Program has the goal of creating more colorful communities by planting annual flowering plants along our city streets, in the fronts of businesses and in our own front yards.

Plant selections come from the Prairie Star Flowers list developed through plant trials at Kansas State University.  The Prairie Star program has tested over 5,000 different varieties of flowering annuals over the past eight years, approving 168 varieties.
