Westwood has an overnight parking ordinance, which prohibits parking for more than 2 hours between midnight and 6:00 a.m. It is designed to help alleviate some of those problems and it also aids in the response by all emergency vehicles to residents in need, all year-round. Therefore, this ordinance will be strictly enforced at all times. All vehicles in violation will be ticketed.
Most Westwood streets are very narrow and cars parked along the city streets make snowplowing difficult and even hazardous at times. When snow accumulation of 2" or more is expected, persons with parking permits are asked to try to park their vehicles in their driveways or in the parking lots of nearby businesses in order to keep the streets as empty as possible. This will expedite the professional snow removal services provided by our Public Works employees that we have come to expect and that snow removal is a vital part of our public safety strategy to respond to calls for service. So, please assist us in the making this a safe and effective process for all.
