A Message from Chief Mansell

On behalf of the men and women of the Westwood Police Department, I would like to personally welcome you to our website.

In Westwood we see our role as providing “service and protection” to those who live in or travel through our community. Protection of the community is at the forefront of our mission.  However, we put the word “service” before “protection” because it better captures the relationship we strive to have with our citizens. We never want to lose sight that at our core, we are servants of the public who are entrusted to enforce local, state and federal laws on behalf of our community.

The strategy to protect our community focuses on a department wide team effort to prevent, reduce and solve crime. We know we cannot achieve this strategy alone. We regularly work in partnership with our elected officials, citizens and area law enforcement.

With these collaborative efforts, and your support, I am confident we can continue to keep the communities we serve some of the safest in the Metro.

Sincerely,
Curt Mansell
Chief of Police
